The Finance Committee is responsible for the financial health of MCP. This group faces many challenges since the cost of producing theatre is high, the lease of a building requires steady income and ticket sales do not cover all of the costs of a community theatre. Peyton Hahn begins his third year as the chair of the Finance Committee. He leads his membership in maintaining the fundraising projects that the group has found successful in the past, assessing all fundraising projects for effectiveness on an ongoing basis and discovering new forms of fundraising. The group also supports the Patron Program, In-Kind Giving and Grants.
Currently, MCP is involved in a variety of fundraising efforts ... some requiring that members spend volunteer hours, some which require little time commitment but ask members to go through a series of steps in their regular daily living.
MCP's current fundraising includes:
Kroger Community Rewards Program - Members and their families and friends name MCP as the recipient of the community rewards dollars. Anyone who has a Kroger Plus Card can visit the Community Rewards site and choose MCP from among the recipients. MCP then receives a portion from every purchase of that member. Members need only show their card or enter their phone number (the one used as the unique identifier in sign up). That's it. You do your regular shopping, MCP raises money. Amazon Smiles - In a similar vein, if you are an Amazon shopper online, your purchases can benefit MCP. You register on the Amazon Smiles web site and choose MCP as the recipient of smiles rewards. Then when you plan to shop, begin the process at smile.amazon.com. If you would like to register to help MCP through Amazon Smiles, click here.
Lebanon, Mason & Monroe Railroad Volunteer Program - MCP members sign up to help at events scheduled at LM & M. For more details and/or to sign up to help at the Thomas day Out Event in August, click here.
Garage Sales - MCP holds a Garage Sale at Theatre 42 every 18 months. The group collect items from the members that they are willing to donate for the sale and publicizes the event. The next sale will be in May this year.
