for Dedicated Service
The following members were honored as a part of the 2021 Awards Ceremony.
Jon Scheiding
Jason Holt Technician of the Year Award
The award is given for dedicated service in technical aspects of theater during a calendar year. Jon was honored for the many hours spent mastering the technology necessary to present a virtual Gender Bender. Jon spent many, many hours at the computer doing sound editing, video editing, and mixing, in addition to his duties as the show's Musical Director.
Bonnie Emmer
Vice-President's Award
Chosen by the sitting Vice-President of MCP, the award is given to a member who has served 5 years or less with the troupe, but who has shown great commitment to its success. Bonnie has been a Board Member, and a member of the Finance Committee. She has served as a director, performer, make-up artist, scenic artist, and fundraiser coordinator during her 4 years with MCP.
Perry Gary
President's Award
Chosen by the sitting President of MCP, the award is given to a member who has served between 6 to 10 years with the troupe and has shown great commitment to its success. Perry has been a Board Member and Chair of the Membership Committee. He has served as a producer, director, performer, set designer, house manager, fundraising coordinator, and general manager of great parties in his 10 years with MCP.
Eric Grimm
Terry Family Founders' Award
The Award is given to a member who has shown dedicated service in an administrative capacity in the course of a calendar year. Eric served as MCP's Vice-President during 2020. He also took on the task of organizing the exit from Theatre 42, which involved managing 57 people over the course of moving from the facility and cleaning it for the next owner. Work began May 17th and continued until June 17th, with a final walk through on June 30th. Eric was present for nearly all of the dates involved. He often worked alone to finish needed tasks. And he got the job done on time and completely!
Robert Terry
Dallas and Helen Bowyer Award
The award is given to a member with at least 5 years of service who has shown extraordinary dedication in a particular aspect of theatre. It does not mean that the individual is not diverse in their participation or limited to the skill. Robert was honored for his outstanding dedication to the promotion of MCP through photography and social media. Robert maintains all of the group's Facebook pages, as well as additional social accounts. He also makes a photographic record of MCP shows and events. Robert has served on the Board of Directors, been a long-time member of the Communications Committee, has performed on stage, and has served many roles back stage.
Tess Catlin
Grace Campbell Award
The award is given to a member who has served at least 5 years and has shown outstanding dedication in many areas of theatre. Tess has been a member of the troupe for 15 years, serving on the Board of Directors for 9 years, 4 years as Treasurer, and 4 as Secretary. She has produced, has a direction in progress, stage managed, performed on stage, and taken on numerous positions back stage. She has worked on more than two dozen shows during her tenure. She has served on the Finance and Communications Committee for many years, and coordinated and participated in many, many fundraisers.
