Do you have a birthday this week and you are not listed here? Don't let that keep happening! (Unless you don't like celebrating birthdays.) E-mail us at newsletter@masonplayers.org and let us know.
MCP's Quarterly Birthday Celebrations are back! Join us once again as gather to celebrate our fellow New Year "babies" at City Barbeque in West Chester on March, 31st. If you can join us at City Barbeque at 7706 Voice of America Centre Dr in West Chester. If you can't make in person, order for pickup or delivery! In person and online orders count toward our 20% back. Make sure you use the flyer here (if in person) or code FundA (if online). The code and fundraiser is good all day, however if you are able to join is in person... a birthday treat will be there for all!
After a much needed break during the run of Belles, The Renovation Team is back at it again! The goal is a Permanent Occupancy Permit. We need to reach that goal before we can open our next show in May. Some of the work that needs to be completed will be done by professional contractors in the plumbing and HVAC areas. But there are still dozens of tasks for our incredible volunteers to accomplish.
On Saturday, the lower kitchen cabinets were installed, along with the countertops, and the refrigerator was delivered. The drop ceiling in the cast bathroom was installed. And most of the remaining HVAC work has been completed.
There is still a lot of work to complete. The upstairs bathroom still needs some finishing work and the cast bathroom (behind the kitchen) and kitchen still need work. Next Saturday will be a short work day as there is a Memorial Service for our friend Mickey that afternoon. However, we will be having a full workday on Sunday.
The goal is to finish these tasks by April 10th, so that an initial inspection can be scheduled for the week of April 11th.
Worried that you do not possess any skills that might help in any way? Don't be worried. You cannot know the value of helping to hold, carry, tote, sweep, vacuum, run errands, or be a second set of hands. Every single person who has spent time in the Playhouse helping with the Renovation process has made the job easier. MCP has always been great at teamwork. Come on out and lend your help. The link to Sign-Up Genius is above and to the left. Letting Jim Cronin know that you will be there helps him plan for the day.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS ...
Quarterly Birthday Celebrations
that are also fundraisers for MCP will be returning. The Membership Committee is investigating restaurant locations to hold these popular events. Details on a celebration for January, February and March of this year will be published soon.
Gary Hopkins, last seen with us in Man of La Mancha, broke his kneecap and
will be having surgery on Monday. Send positive thoughts for a complete recovery.
Fred Tomlinson is recovering from a minor surgery. Let us send warm wishes for hope for a speedy recovery.
Peyton Hahn suffered from an injury to his leg during a performance of Bright Star. There are two possible issues. Let us hope for the less serious of the two
possibilities.

The City of Lebanon is entering into a new eight-year rail usage
agreement with the Cincinnati Scenic Railway, operator of the LM&M
Railroad. This new agreement allows the LM&M Railroad to continue to use
the City-owned rail line to provide passenger excursions. Through a
grant-driven collaborative effort between the City and LM&M Railroad,
significant improvements will be made to rail infrastructure to ensure
long-term operation of the rail line, preserving the train as a unique feature
of Lebanon’s downtown entertainment offerings, benefitting economic development
through tourism. According to a 2014 Economic Impact Study, the train operation
was estimated to contribute over $2.5 million in economic activity for the
City.
“We are thrilled to enter into this new agreement with the City of
Lebanon. The LM&M values the relationship that it has within the
Lebanon community and looks forward to building upon this more in the future
with exciting new events. As a 501c3 Nonprofit, we will also be expanding our
educational and historical outreach throughout the region by offering exclusive
new programs, resulting in more tourism to the City of Lebanon.” - Ray Kammer,
President of Cincinnati Scenic Railway (LM&M Railroad). The Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad (LM&M Railroad), operating
from Historic Downtown Lebanon, offers scenic train rides through Southwestern
Ohio in Warren County. The train operates on approximately 6 miles of track
between Lebanon, Mason and Monroe. The train offers nostalgic train rides, presenting
passengers with the opportunity to learn about local history and railroad
operations while creating everlasting memories with family and friends. In
April 2022, the LM&M Railroad will be offering the Easter Bunny Express,
the Murder Mystery Train, the Turtle Creek Valley Flyer and the Lebanon
Experience.
As mentioned above, the Easter Train is coming soon and we need volunteers! This is one of the easiest fundraiser that we have. Six volunteers are needed for each "shift" to spread easter eggs out over the ground and then help the little ones "find" them, if needed. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts, just bring a chair and hangout or go grab a coffee, as there will be down time between trains. Have younger kids or high school students who need community service time? This is the perfect event to get them involved. Sign up here:

The Finance Committee is seeking 2-3 people to serve on a new subcommittee dedicated to obtaining and maintaining season and show sponsors and program advertisers. Duties would include reviewing and revising sponsorship and ad rates annually (to be approved by the Board), contacting current sponsors and advertisers to renew seasonally, and seeking out new sponsors and advertisers. Although a large part of the work would occur in the Fall in preparation for the 2023 season, there would be some tasks throughout the year. Please contact Susan Berger, treasurer@masonplayers.org, if interested in serving.
This newsletter will be sent to you each Sunday evening. It is the hope of the leadership of MCP that this will be an easy communication for you to refer to throughout that week and that you will not have as many messages from the group in your inbox over the course of the week. You can always reach out to us at any time with suggestions.
