MCP is hosting a special fundraiser through the graciousness of a former member. An Evening with Mark McGrath will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Mason Community Playhouse, 5529 Mason Road in Mason. The highlight of the evening will be two 50-60 minute sets filled with pop and Broadway songs. The cost of the event will be $50, which will include hors d'oeuvres, two drinks, and dessert. There will be an intermission.
Mark auditioned for a role in Mason Community Players' 1976 production of 1776. The cast of the show was so impressed that they encouraged him to audition for the College Conservatory of Music at UC. He took their advice and won a four-year scholarship to that prestigious establishment. In 1982, he moved to New York City, and two weeks later was cast in Neil Simon's Little Me, which also featured James Coco and Victor Garber. Mark has also appeared on Broadway in The Three Musketeers and The Scarlet Pimpernel, and with the National Touring Company of Blood Brothers, featuring Petula Clark and David Cassidy.
Since then, he has sung with well-respectesd symphony orchestras throughout the U.S.
For some time, he has wanted to return to Mason and give back to MCP, the group which set him on his career path 49 years ago!
Tickets will be available online soon!
