You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown is a revue of songs and vignettes, based on Peanuts, the beloved Charles Schulz comic strip. Peanuts was published from October 20, 1950 through February 13, 2000.
With charm, wit, and heart, Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes and celebrate the joy of friendship. This show offers a relatable and nostalgic look at childhood, with its ups and downs, through the familiar lens of the characters we have all grown to love on their pursuit of happiness.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown opened on March 7, 1967 and played for 1,597 performances in New York at the Theatre 80 St. Marks with Gary Burghoff in the title role. MCP's version of this classic will feature Will Sapp as Charlie Brown, Ben Essex as Linus, Kaitlyn DeWitt as Lucy, James Roberts as Schroeder, Hannah Richardson as Patty, Jack Verner as Snoopy, and Rylee Combs as Woodstock.
The show is directed by Tess Catlin with music direction by Lara Gonzalez. Stephanie Dalsfoist is the show's stage manager. They are supported by a skillful team of technicians.
