SincemakingMasonCommunityPlayhouse its home, MCP has hoped to offer an educational opportunity for youth. Happily, 2026 will be the first year of an annual youth summer theatre camp.
This year, the Camp, titled Come and Murder People* will take place from 9am to 3pm daily beginning July 27 and ending July 31.

Campers, age 12 to 17,will collaborate to create and perform an interactive murder mystery. The script is 80% complete, but the leaders need the creative input of the CAMPERS to bring it all together for a free performance at 5:30pm on Friday, July 31st. (Due to space constraints, campers will be limited to inviting 4 audience members each.) Participants can choose areas of concentration - performing that includes singing and choreo, performing that is acting only, stage management/set design/construction, costumes/props/make-up/hair, or lighting/sound/special effects.
All activities will take place at the Mason Community Playhouse, 5529 Mason Road in Mason. The building will be open from 8:30am to 3:30pm to accommodate drop off and pick-up.
Campers will be asked to bring their own lunch (due to dietary restrictions/allergies). MCP will provide daily afternoon snacks. The complete list of selections (such as Goldfish crackers, fruit, Nilla Wafers) will be provided the week of.
The fee per camper is $250, which covers 5 days of camp, a souvenir t-shirt, production fees, and performance tickets.
